This summer I participated in the Portland Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program so I could learn how to sail.  It was a blast.  I can't wait until next summer!

One of the things that was important for us to learn is how to right a boat.  So as we were waiting for the rest of the group to join us at the dock, we flipped the boat!

Here we go getting it back up!  Then it is time to bail~

Now that I have some sailing instruction, I can go out on my sailboat.  My family has had this boat since my mom was a kid.  My grandparents bought it from their friends, the Rielly family, when it was called '"Life of Rielly."  My mom was the only person in her family that used the boat and she re-named it "Ripple" after a song by the Grateful Dead! I haven't decided what I am going to call it yet.  I have time….
