The day we left we celebrated Shannon’s 12th birthday at Becky’s Diner on Portland’s waterfront….
Then drove to Boston and flew to London, England for a two week family vacation!
We arrived at Heathrow at 6AM, found Daniel’s mom, ‘Grandma Chili’ and took the Tube to our apartment for the next two weeks in Southwark in Borough, just south of the Thames in London. We soon learned to pronounce it like the natives—'suthik' in 'burra.'
Before we knew it, we were walking across the Thames from Southwark on the new Millennium Footbridge heading towards St. Paul’s Cathedral with Chili! |
